Your library is considering reserving one room for silent study. You may invent personal details; keep any facts supplied in this task.

Write 120–150 words giving your opinion. Include two reasons, a concrete example, acknowledge another view and end with a clear conclusion.

解答と解説を開く
I think our library should reserve one room for silent study. First, some people have no quiet space at home, so the library may be their only chance to concentrate. Second, a clear rule would reduce arguments between visitors who expect different things. Last month, I was preparing for an exam when a group began discussing a project beside me. They were doing useful work, but I found it difficult to read. I understand that students also need places to work together. For that reason, I would keep the main room open for normal conversation and use the smaller room for silence. Signs at both doors could explain the difference. This would not satisfy every need, but it would give visitors a reasonable choice without asking everyone to behave in exactly the same way.

“First,” → “I understand that students also need”. 表現: “This would not satisfy every need, but it would give visitors a reasonable choice without asking everyone to behave in exactly the same way.” 条件や限界を示しながら立場を表しています。根拠のある別の立場でも課題を満たせます。 別の表現や構成でも課題を満たせます。与えられた事実は守りましょう。これは自己確認で、自動の言語採点ではありません。

A community website asks whether a monthly car-free afternoon would be useful. You may invent personal details; keep any facts supplied in this task.

Write 120–150 words giving your opinion. Support it with two reasons and an example, consider a different view and conclude.

解答と解説を開く
I would support a monthly car-free afternoon in the town centre, provided that access for people who need it is protected. One reason is that families could walk around more comfortably. Another is that local groups would have space to organise activities. At a similar event I visited last year, a small repair workshop attracted people who had never spoken to one another before. However, I understand why some shopkeepers worry about deliveries and customers carrying heavy bags. The council should discuss a clear delivery period and keep nearby accessible parking available. It should also ask businesses about their experience after each event. A trial seems better than either making a permanent change immediately or rejecting the idea without testing it. With careful planning, one afternoon could bring benefits without creating unnecessary difficulties.
