Proposal: Improving the shared work room
The shared room currently serves people making calls and colleagues who need sustained concentration. These activities can interrupt one another. I recommend a six-week trial that creates clearer expectations without requiring immediate building work.
First, we should reserve the window side for quiet tasks during two agreed periods each day. Calls and informal discussions could use the opposite end when necessary, but longer calls should move to a separate room if one is available. Clear signs and a shared calendar would make the arrangement easier to follow.
Second, we should provide a simple way to request adjustments. Staff with access needs or changing customer responsibilities may require flexibility. The policy should not assume that everyone can move at short notice.
The main constraint is limited space. Screens might reduce visual distraction, but we should test movable furniture before purchasing permanent fittings. Any changes must preserve safe routes through the room.
During the trial, staff could record whether a planned focus task was completed and describe any difficulties briefly. These notes should be considered alongside missed calls and meeting-room demand, rather than turned into individual performance scores.
I recommend beginning with the low-cost timetable and furniture changes, then reviewing the evidence after six weeks. Permanent spending should follow a demonstrated improvement, not precede it.

A community centre has an unused outdoor corner and a small volunteer team. The committee requests a proposal for a learning garden. You may invent personal details; keep any facts supplied in this task.

Write 180–240 words. Explain users and purpose, practical steps and reasons, resource limits, evaluation and a final recommendation.

解答と解説を開く
Proposal: A small learning garden
The unused corner beside the community centre could become a place where residents learn basic growing skills. I recommend starting with two raised beds rather than redesigning the whole outdoor area immediately.
The first step should be an access and site check. We need to confirm permission to use the land, a reliable water supply and clear routes for people using mobility aids. Bed height and path width should be discussed with intended users before materials are purchased.
A small volunteer group could then choose a few easy crops and publish a weekly care list. Separate, manageable tasks would allow residents to contribute without promising attendance every weekend. Short demonstrations could connect the garden with existing cooking activities at the centre.
The main limit is volunteer time. A larger opening display might look impressive but become difficult to maintain during holidays. We should therefore reserve part of the budget for replacement materials and avoid promising year-round produce.
After one growing season, the committee should review maintenance records, participation and residents’ comments. The amount harvested would be useful information, but it should not be the only measure of a learning project.
I recommend a modest first season with clear responsibilities and a planned review. Expansion should depend on continuing capacity and user feedback, rather than enthusiasm at the launch alone.
